Abstract

In the area covered under the Universidad Autonoma Agraria Antonio Narro in the locality of "El Alamo" some vineyards were established during 1950 to 1960, but this were totally disappeared now due to the selection of undesirable varieties, incidence of pests such as filoxera (Phylloxera vastatrix) and stem borerof the wood (Amphicerus bicaudatus Say) and susceptibility to certain type of viral (yellow mosaic and fan leaf).

Currently to reiniciate a promising grape garden which will permit to utilize superior varieties and to produce best quality fresh grapes for table purpose. In the UAAAN studies were conducted to evaluate 50 cultivars of grapes and raisins (dried grapes) varieties. The materials were planted with bilateral cordon system using a completely randomized block desing with three replications, 17 treat- ments and 9 plants/variety.

The results of the five years study indicated that the following varieties: Black Rose, Barlinka, Exotic and Rosa del Peru demostrated superior adaptation for the consumption of fresh grapes.
