The objectives of this survey were 1) to determine the weevils species of the genus Conotrachelus associated with guava (Psidium sp.) in the Juchipila, Canyon, Zacatecas, 2) to corroborate the identification of C. dimidiatus and 3) to know their relative quantitative and economic importance. Eight orchards were chosen in order to represent different management and ecological conditions in the area. Insects were captured by jarring, knock down, entomological netting and infested fruit recollection at three dates of sampling, from June throughout August of 1991. Another aim was to gather data about adult activity levels: at the beginning, at maxim and at the end. Nine species were found to be associated with guava, being one of those (C. dimidiatus) the most harmful one. Conotrachelus sp. (number three) was the next one in importance; seven species were detected by accident.
