Comparison of three methods for DNA isolation in sunflower. To obtain good quality DNA in a given species testing of different isolation methods is often required. Three methods of DNA isolation were tested in sunflower, and evaluated according to the concentration, purity and electrophoretic behavior of Puregene® DNA purification kit (Gentre systems), Doyle and Doyle (1990) and Graham et al. (1994). Two of those methods were acceptable for DNA isolation in terms of absorbance ratio, concentration and electrophoretic aspect. The method of Doyle and Doyle (1990) was selected for having a lower cost.
