broilers, fulvic acids, carcass qualityAbstract
The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of fulvic acids (FA) in the diet of broiler chickens. The following doses were tested: 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4% AF in the diet on feed intake (FI), weight gain (WG) and feed efficiency (FE, feed/gain). Also, crude protein (CP) and fat (F) in main pieces of broiler chicken (breast and leg + thigh) were evaluated. 180 one-day-old male chickens from the Ross 308 line were fed during 42 days with diets based on corn, soybean meal and a premix (vitamins, amino acids and trace minerals). The sas program was used for statistical analysis of results, through a completely random design, for five treatments with three replications. Results obtained demonstrated that the best response in terms of WG, FE and carcass quality was obtained with the addition of 2% FA. Higher levels of CP were also observed in the chicken breast and areduction of carcass fat was also obtained.
