Abstract

This experiment was set up in the Galeana, county Nuevo Leon, with the objective of studing the activity of the fungicide Flutolanil (Moncut) in the control of black scurf Rhizoctonia solani. The fungicides were applied at the bottom of the furrow over the potato seeds at planting. Parameters evaluated were, incidence of the pathogen in potato plantlets, incidence and severity of the disease on the tuber at harvest and yield. Results show that the Flutolanil (1.6, 2.0 y 2.4 kg a.i./ha), the Pencycuron (2.5 kg a.i./ha) and PCNB (30 kg a.l./ha), are controling efficiently the disease in the plantlet state, however at harvest the fungicides that had the best performance were the Flutolanil and Pencycuron at the doses specified before. The Iprodione (1 kg a.i./ha) it was statistically similar to the control. None of the fungicide had a significant effect at increasing the crop yield but some of them increased tuber quality.
