The impact of the epoch of use of a short grassland praire in terms of effect of use degrees is analyzed. A rain simulator was used and an intensity of 12 cm h1 m2 was applied for each epoch and “use degree” by periods of 40 minutes. The infiltration rates and erosion interril (kg ha'') were determined. The experimental design was at random with arrangement of factors. The differences among treatments were determined by the method of Tukey for effect of the epoch and "use degree". The infiltration rates exhibit similar values to those of the areas with equal use of the grassland, being smaller their values in the places under severe use. A discussion about results among treatments is made.
