Influencia de la intensidad lumínica sobre la absorción de flor en el cultivo de lilis (lilium spp)

This culture is affected by factors like temperature, nourishing levels, and the light, among others, that diminish their yield and cause problems, like the abortion of flowers. This work was performed from July 1999 to January 2000, in two experimental phases. Its objective was to assay the influence of the luminance intensity on the abortion of flower in the culture of lilies (Lilium spp).
The variables to be evaluated were: number of sprouts, percent of abortion of flower, height of plant, diameter of flower. In the phase I there were four treatments (without mesh, 33, 50 and 73% of I shade), from which resulted that to greater percentage of shade, a greater abortion of flower. In phase II, with additional illumination by the night (100 to 200 candles per foot) the abortion of the flower diminished, although it was more effective the illumination with 200 candles per foot.
