Abstract

The objective of the present work was to form and select outstand ing tomato genotypes in terms of performance and nutrient content.  The test environment was in the greenhouse, at the beginning of the flowering stage took place the formation of materials using directed crosses, which took place during the months of February to March  2013. The evaluation of the crosses and parents was conducted  in the months of August 2013 to January 2014, under a random ized complete block design, which showed difference (p ≤ 0.01) in  performance to the source of variation in genotype related source of  variation cuts number (NC), fruit mean weight (PPF) and yield in ton  ha-1 (RNDTHA) variables; for phenological variables was difference  (p ≤ 0.01) in variables days to first harvest (DPC) and days in harvest  (DC); for nutrient content was difference (p ≤ 0.01) in genotypes for  hydrogen ion potential (pH), brix degrees (brix), vitamin C (VITC) and  lycopene (LICOP) variables. The differences presented in the evaluated variables prove that there is genetical variability in genotypes.
